Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Next, we headed North West just across the Czech border to a little town south of the republic which, given its size, packs a big punch! Welcome to Cesky Krumlov!

My first, and I am pleased to say enduring impression of Cesky Krumlov was "wow".

The pictures should say something of the beauty of this place but it is little wonder that even a town of Krumlov's size has dedicated to it a chapter in most of the guide books (alongside major cities like Prague). It is a major attraction for both tourists and Czechs alike. The major feature of the town is the Krumlov Castle with its ornately decorated spire.

A few more of the the Castle...
We stayed in Krumlov for two nights spending most the the first day touring the castle (oh and sampling some of the fine local pastry). The following day two of us went horse riding through a very Robin Hood Sherwood forest scene and joined the group in the arvo a bike ride in the mountains. Took a bit of practice to get this shot!

Not surprisingly, I manage to lose the group while on a frolick of my own and, without a mobile, had to leg it back to the town to let them know I had not been taken by a bear!
